What’s the scoop on Scoop Dog?

What do you usually put on your hot dog? Most people typically keep it simple with some ketchup, mustard, or relish. Maybe you prefer some toppings like some chili & cheese, or sauerkraut. Typically, you don’t really see too much else on a traditional hot dog.

Perhaps you would be interested in adding more to your typical hot dog, then go and stop by Scoop Dog Cafe, which is located on High St. in Glassboro, NJ.

The gourmet hot dog cafe opened up on October 6, 2016. The cafe is connected to Lets Dance Studio Inc., which according to the manager named Nicole, “it used to be another cafe, then the husband of the woman who owns the dance studio bought it. The owner purchased this cafe with the vision of making hot dogs an affordable, and filling meal”.

Customers have a choice of selecting an already created signature gourmet dog, which includes choices like the “Mac Jagger Dog” which is smothered in mac & cheese, and the “Rowan Dog” that is served with beer cheese, and crispy fried onions. You also have the option of creating your own dog, which you can select any toppings listed with a specific price for each of them.

In terms of price, you are definitely getting your money worth. Each signature gourmet dog is just five dollars, and way larger than your typical hot dog. That is a solid bargain for college students, as well as also adding to the fact that you save 10% off with showing your Rowan ID. If you’re trying to stay healthy, they also offer a “skinny dog”, which is a turkey dog that is only 140 calories, and three dollars.

Nicole also explained how the homemade toppings they serve, including chips, soup, and chili, are all picked up fresh from Bogey’s Cafe, located at the golf course in Pitman.

When you are finished with your hot dog, if you have enough appetite for some dessert, enjoy one of the 34 assorted flavors that they offer. You can order simply 1 or 2 ice cream scoops, a sundae, or milkshake all under six dollars.

I hope you get a chance to check out Scoop Dog C some time, it is a new great spot to enjoy a tasty gourmet hot dog, with some ice cream after for some dessert.
